Role:
Responsible for providing direct support to the Marketing Department in order to accomplish the goals/strategies set forth in the credit union's strategic plan. Designs and develops marketing and promotional material for the credit union. Assists with managing and maintaining the credit union's website. Creates and maintains content for social media platforms. Serves as the voice of credit union in publications and communication materials.

This position is eligible for a hybrid work from home schedule, as set and approved by the position's manager in accordance with the credit union's Remote Work Policy.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • 40% - Create concepts, designs, and layouts as needed for various credit union advertisements, promotions and/or publications including print, digital and video formats.
  • 20% - Write, revise and edit copy and content for advertising materials, forms, letters, newsletters, website and social media platforms.
  • 20% - Assists with managing the credit union's Marketing systems including the credit union's website, InLighten and Watchfire systems. This includes: troubleshooting, understanding and being able to make physical updates to the hardware/software, updating, and creating new content, pages and tools and communicating with vendors.
  • 10% - Coordinates between the credit union and multiple marketing and printing agencies, maintaining marketing supplies and inventory controls.
  • 5% - Assist with coordinating credit union events.
  • 5% - Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Performance Measurements:

  1. Designs, develops and implements marketing programs for the credit union under the direction of the Marketing Manager.
  2. Writes, revises and edits copy and content for advertising materials, forms, letters, newsletters, website and social media platforms.
  3. Create concepts, designs, and layouts as needed for various credit union advertisements, promotions and/or publications including print and online formats. Use computer software to produce still and animated graphics and layouts for use in print, cable, website and billboard advertising. Review final layouts and suggest improvements as needed.
  4. Assists with managing the credit union's website by updating, reorganizing and creating new content, pages and tools and communicating with vendors.
  1. Develops e-marketing and social networking initiatives including website content and design updates and email marketing initiatives. In addition, responsible for supporting the credit union's various social media network accounts, posting updates and responding to posts as appropriate.
  2. Assist in coordinating activities between the credit union and multiple marketing and printing agencies. Maintain a constant check on in-progress materials.
  3. Maintains portfolio of completed campaigns, advertisements and press releases with samples of all marketing pieces.
  4. Maintains marketing supplies and inventory controls. (Logo'd shirts, promotional items, brochures etc.)
  5. Completes branch merchandising, replacing promotional materials as needed and distributes promotional materials to employees and branches.
  6. Assists in performing periodic audits of promotional materials, advertising compliance and other miscellaneous items.
  7. Using the credit union's MCIF system, assist in developing targeted mailings and reports to assist management in achieving the credit union's strategic objectives.
  8. Assist with coordinating credit union events and seminars including but not limited to Annual Golf Tournament, Annual Meeting, Holiday Parties and Community Education Seminars.
  9. Assist in developing and maintaining programs to promote internal education and awareness of Credit Union programs.
  10. Assists as needed with scheduling appointments, returning telephone calls, typing correspondence, and preparing reports and documents with the use of a personal computer.
  11. Promote and cross-sell services offered by the Credit Union.
  12. Handle member and employee inquiries about promotional and marketing programs.
  13. Ensure all Credit Union material is "on brand" and presents a positive and consistent image.
  14. Carry out assigned responsibilities with minimum number of errors according to established department standards.
  15. Maintain knowledge of advancements and improvements in software, equipment and tools relating to graphic arts and make purchase recommendations for budget consideration.
  16. Research competitor offerings and consumer trends to aid development of Credit Union marketing initiatives.
  17. Assists in taking photos during Credit Union events.
  1. Participate in training and professional development activities to acquire and maintain standards established by the credit union. This could include attending conferences, seminars and workshops as directed by management.
  2. Travels periodically between branches.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Experience

  • A minimum of three years of similar or related experience is required.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design/Visual Communications preferred; or
  • Associates Degree in Graphic Design/Visual Communications with a minimum of 5 years of related experience.
  • Will consider candidates with 7 years of related experience in lieu of degree.

Interpersonal Skills

  • Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a high degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication.

Other Skills

  • Requires some knowledge of marketing and public relations strategies, usually acquired through continuing education or work experience in marketing or sales related field.
    Requires demonstrated proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite and various graphic design software. (Including but not limited to Adobe Illustrator, Premier Pro & InDesign.) Prior experience managing or updating website content using a Content Management System (CMS) and a working knowledge of SEO, Google Analytics and Ad word strategies is preferred. This position also requires a working knowledge of print production and print industry standards.
  • Excellent organizational and editing skills are required. Must be able to communicate effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience using the English language. Requires knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and proper grammar and punctuation. Requires well-developed interpersonal skills for communications involving contacts inside and outside of the credit union.
  • Experience and knowledge of multiple forms of social media platforms, including but not limited to Facebook, X, Instagram, and Linked In.
  • Requires a strong portfolio showcasing a variety of design projects and marketing material.

Physical Requirements

  • Requires basic mathematical skills.
  • Requires exertion of up to 20 pounds of force occasionally to move objects.
  • Involves sitting most of the time. Walking and standing are required occasionally.
  • Repetitive finger movements to perform typing or otherwise working with paper files and documents.
  • Requires close visual acuity to prepare and analyze data and figures; view a computer terminal; read and assess work quality.

Work Environment

  • Not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
  • State of Pennsylvania residency required.
